Home Sweet Home Sewing is a collection of sweet and fresh new projects inspired by the traditional crafts of patchwork, quilting and embroidery but with a contemporary twist which makes them fit well in modern interiors.

I have explored my love of fabrics here too, and show ways to use up even the tiniest scraps. I love to use a special fabric colour palette to create the different projects, from soft and romantic to bright and fresh, and exploring colour is a way to make each project your own. I learnt how to do patchwork using the English paper piecing technique when I was a school girl. I love to sew by hand still, but I also appreciate the speed of machine sewing and chain piecing and I have included projects for all these in my new book. 

The selection of projects includes the soft and floral Honey Hives Quilt and the cute Little Houses Quilt, as well as the very sweet Little Birds Doll’s Quilt that includes simple embroidery. There are lots of smaller makes like patchwork cushions, including the Liberty Circles Cushion that uses up tiny precious scraps of fabric, the pretty pastel Spring Wreath,  cute Little Deer toy, handstitched pincushions and other sewing notions, table topper, pretty fabric bags, coasters, charms and decorations. Many of these simple patterns provide a good starting point to explore your own creativity, and
I hope they will inspire you to create and have a lot of crafty fun.
